The sun may have made only a brief appearance on this gal's golden birthday, but there was no shortage of brightness and joy during a rather epic party at Glaze Fire and Griffith Park last week! My grade-school self would have been in absolute birthday heaven: the day began with a paint-your-own-pottery party complete with deliciousness from Heirloom LA, continued with a nature-themed scavenger hunt amid the park trails, and ended with a sparkly multi-layered chocolate cake and bubbles bigger than every pint-sized guest combined. Periodic showers and ominous skies teased us all for most of the afternoon, but the party gods (i.e. the most cool and creative parents, grandmother, and babysitter) delivered the perfect afternoon for an incredibly special nine-year-old. And as you'll notice in the images that follow, the gloom went unnoticed and the precipitation couldn't put a damper on a day that will undoubtedly be one of her most memorable.
