giving goodness | babies4babies photography in santa monica

Becoming a photographer not only has allowed me to exercise my need to create on a regular basis, but it has introduced me to some of the most inspiring go-getters, and getting to know their stories (and of course capturing a piece of said story) has been one of my favorite perks of the job.

After a completely serendipitous meeting in a Santa Monica park with a sweet babysitter and an adorable toddler, I was introduced to Kate Marie Grinold Sigfusson, founder and CEO of Babies4Babies. Her gorgeous, all-purpose blankets are absolute works of art, and her mission is just as beautiful. Kate creates stunning, made-in-the-USA baby textiles and donates four life-saving antiseptic treatments to four babies in developing countries with every single purchase. She's on track to save one million newborns, and in addition to being a true path-maker in the world of retail philanthropy, she's a stunning mother of sweet Theodore with another on the way. Needless to say, I was (and still am!) awe-struck by Kate, and the opportunity to photograph her before she returned to Chicago was one I couldn't pass up. The images that follow are just a glimpse into the light that this woman radiates, and hearing her plans for the future of Babies4Babies makes her aura even brighter. Do yourself a favor and check out her site, send a meaningful gift to a mama friend or purchase one for your own kiddo, and feel great about the fact that you're supporting this incredibly noble cause.

Wishing you the very best as you embark on new adventures in motherhood and in entrepreneurship, Kate, and can't wait to see you again come January!
