After a bit of radio silence (turns out raising two humans is a full-time job!), I wanted to come back to my blog with a bang—and this Dôen Journal shoot with the radiant Narelle felt like a great reason to reinstate my session sharing. A few weeks ago I returned to work in near-full-capacity with a few soul-feeding Dôen shoots, and I count this particular gig as one of my all-time favorites.
Mama to one (with another on the way) and postpartum doula to many, Narelle is one of the most centered, beautiful beings I've ever worked with. We spent an afternoon at her home in Topanga Canyon with Dôen co-founder Katherine and their two sons photographing flowy, maternity-friendly clothes, but also talking about all things motherhood and letting the little ones run wild (as you'll see below). Had it not been for the setting sun, I could have stayed hours longer, and I think these images might help to explain why.
