We've been longtime fans of modern glam children's clothing brand Crew + Lu, so when Uyen Carlson (the brains and beauty behind the brand) asked me to photograph their fall 2016 lookbook, you can bet I said yes before she even finished the question.
Uyen's vision for this collection was one of nostalgia with an abundance of greenery, so my favorite kid's PR maven, Lucia Tran set out to find the perfect backdrop for our shoot (no small feat in dry, desert-y/beachy Los Angeles). We settled on the idyllic Arlington Gardens in Pasadena, and started close to sunrise to beat the summer heat (after all, we were photographing fall attire). Each sweet, pint-sized model arrived ready to ham it up (and look for fairy houses amidst the trails), and each outfit that Lucia pulled was more stunning than the last. I think/hope the end result is a set of images that evoke the timelessness of the brand and the mind-blowing talent that created these clothes and styled the shoot.
